After a first adventure in trade, the need to create, to experiment my own color on the large palette, led me to sculpture.<\/p>\n

The volume speaks to me, its capacity to express a dynamic, a momentum, an energy both strong and subtle, enchants me and feeds me.<\/p>\n

Doing my job allows me, by putting myself at the service of other people’s projects, to renew this daily adventure of the quest for fairness and beauty.<\/p>\n

I have always been attracted by volume, and being able to represent it in drawing has been very useful in my studies of Applied Arts.<\/p>\n

In 1994, I discovered stonemasonery and understood that matter would be my field of expression.<\/p>\n

The “Compagnons du Devoir” taught me the basics of the job, but I toured France on my own.<\/p>\n

Combining the science of line drawing and artistic sensitivity to make beautiful things out of stone has become a passion.<\/p>\n

I was 8 years old when I crossed the path of a stonemason.

Trained in stonemasonry with the “Compagnons du Devoir”, I have been working for twenty years in different regions, both on site and in the workshop.<\/p>\n

In 2014 I join Grain de Pierre for the realization of an unusual and technical job.<\/p>\n

Since then, we share this human adventure together.<\/p>\n

Andr\u00e9 Martins<\/h3>\n

Son of a stonemason, it was my father who taught me the job and passed on to me the taste for well done work.<\/p>\n

I graduated and worked in different regions, as far as Portugal!<\/p>\n

Stonemasonry in the workshop and restoration of Historical Monuments gave me the taste for the beautiful work that I share today with the team of Grain of Pierre.<\/p>\n
