Finishes: Appearance of stone and patina of time

Naturally, the Stone is beautiful.

However, for it to fit perfectly in a given environment, it is possible to improve its look and age its surface.

The stones we use allow a panel of different finishes.

At Grain de Pierre, we work hard limestone called “limestone marbriers” whose density of 2.5 tonnes / m³ is close to that of granite.

Rather homogeneous, it is the “tool stroke” that will highlight their properties and transform their imperfections into qualities.

To obtain a credible aged look, we will chisel, bulge, brush, wear, polish and often skate our cut stones with natural pigments to start the action of time and give character to the piece.
