Small stone entrance pillars
in Saint Clar, Gers
The small ashlar pillars invite you to step onto the paved driveway leading to the house.
Designed to measure, they were made to match the existing old building. While waiting for the natural finish brought by time, the stone was aged and then patinated in our workshop before the pillars were installed.
In keeping with the architecture of the buildings, the shafts and capitals of the pillars are simple and unadorned, but give the stone its noble and lasting expression.
The pillars, the paving of the driveway, the old house and its outbuildings form a harmony of natural stone. The coherence of the whole is underlined by the choice of plants in a well-designed garden, the whole composing a pretty palette of colours.
